There are a lot of fucked up things in this manga, but I do really, really love its aesthetic.
Sometimes it’s like I imagine that mangaka sat down and was like “fuck advancing the plot for right now, I want more fancy! And flowers! YES! Brutal murder and zombies need not be mutually exclusive with being a manga full of FLOWERS!”
I fucking hate this character. They only exist for the purpose of mocking queer people and trans women, their primary plot use is as a heterosexist/cissexist joke. While I generally like kuroshitsuji, I fucking cringe every single time Grell shows up because of this shit. And, the thing is, I like bad queers narratively far more than a lot of other queer and trans people do, so I’m on the higher end of bad queer tolerance compared to a lot of people. This character is far beyond bad queer and just falls right into cissexist heterosexist stereotype that exists only for cis heteros to laugh at.
